What can you expect from your ENT consultation at Turó Park Clinics?

During your consultation with one of our ENT specialists, you will begin by explaining the nature of the problem, when and how it started, and the degree of discomfort you feel. The specialist will also ask you about your personal and family history.

The specialist will then carry out a clinical examination of the organs in question, and may prescribe additional tests (laryngeal stroboscopy or pharyngolaryngeal fibroscopy, for example).

Depending on the problem and the treatment to be given, the otolaryngologist may propose different types of medical or surgical treatment, as well as speech therapy.

Our answers to the most frequently asked questions about voice disorders

What can you do to preserve your voice?

To take care of your voice, it is recommended to drink a lot of water to hydrate your vocal cord, to limit alcohol consumption, and to protect yourself from the cold.

Is honey good for your vocal cords?

Honey is an ally of the vocal cords because it lubricates and sanitises them at the same time. If you add a drop of cypress essential oil and a drop of lemon bedew to a teaspoon of honey, you will obtain a very effective remedy for voice loss.

What diet to adopt to have a beautiful voice?

It is recommended not to eat too much spicy food and to avoid sodas and fizzy drinks which promote gastric acidity. On the other hand, alkalinising foods (green vegetables, potatoes, avocado, bananas, almonds, etc.) should be favoured.
