Dr. Mª Eulalia Fernández-Montolí is a medical specialist in gynaecology at Turó Park Clinics. She has more than 30 years of experience as a gynaecologist, always adopting a holistic approach and focusing on the wellbeing of the patient. She specialises in the treatment of endometriosis, endoscopic gynaecology and human papilloma virus. She also specialises in vulvar pathology, ovarian cysts and fibroids.
Education
Dr. Eulalia graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona, during which she became resident doctor via MIR in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Sant Joan de Déu University Hospital. She was a research fellow and completed her doctoral thesis at the August Pi i Sunyer Foundation of the University Hospital of Bellvitge. She obtained the degree of Doctor with the qualification of "Cum Laude by Unanimity" at the University of Barcelona. Subsequently, she completed a master's degree in endoscopic gynaecological surgery at the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in breast diseases and senology at the same university.
She has also completed training stays at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York (USA) and at the IRCAD Centre in Strasbourg (France).
She is currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Bellvitge Campus, at the University of Barcelona and Professor in the Master of Advanced Medical Competences at the University of Barcelona, and in various national and international Masters and courses. She is also an Advisor Researcher in the Research Group "Infeccions i Càncer" of IDIBELL.
She is accredited in Colposcopy by AEPCC and certified in Gynaecological Ultrasound by IOTA and ISUOG. She is Head of the Cervical and Lower Genital Tract Pathology Unit at Bellvitge University Hospital and Endometriosis Referent at the same Hospital.
She is the author of more than 50 international and national scientific publications in her field. Editor and author of three books, one of them published in the United States, as well as author of several chapters of national and international books. She is co-author of several care protocols and has participated in the drafting of the document "Model d'atenció a l'Endometriosi a Catalunya" of the Departament de Salut. Generalitat de Catalunya.
She is also very involved in research, contributing as principal investigator or collaborator in several national and international research projects. She is currently working on research lines in cervical pathology, conservative treatment of endometrial cancer for fertility preservation and endometriosis.
Award for Best National and International Impact Publication AEPCC 2021.
She is Treasurer and former secretary of the SCOG. Coordinator of the SCOG's Working Group on Evidence-based Health Recommendations.
