Dr. Marta Hernández-Meneses is a specialist in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine at Turó Park Clinics. As an infectious disease specialist, she is competent in the diagnosis, management and treatment of infectious diseases in immunocompetent and immunosuppressed patients, screening for sexually transmitted diseases, urinary tract infections and travel medicine. On the other hand, as an internist she handles the diagnosis and treatment of pathology such as fever of unknown origin, diagnosis of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases or symptoms of unknown origin in adults.
Education
Graduated in Medicine at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, she was a resident doctor in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Dr. Negrín in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She later trained in Infectious Diseases at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, where she is currently a specialist. She also holds a Master's degree in Design and Statistics in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Master's degree in Advanced Medical Skills: Specialisation in HIV infection and AIDS from the University of Barcelona.
In these fields she has a diploma in basic research and translational experimentation and currently has more than 70 publications in international journals with an H-index of 16. She is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona. She has participated as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences, courses and seminars in the field of health care.
