Dr. Albert Gargallo is a specialist in traumatology and orthopaedic surgery in Barcelona.
As a specialist in traumatology, in the diagnostic and therapeutic field, Dr. Gargallo deals with disorders related to sports injuries, torn ligaments, meniscus tears, biceps pathologies, and knee, hip and ankle osteoarthritis, among others.
He is also specialised in paediatric traumatology, specifically in guided growth, varus/valgus, dysmetria, foot pathologies and misalignments such as flat feet, cavus feet, etc.
He has played key roles in the field of orthopaedics and traumatology, standing out in paediatric orthopaedic surgery and neuroorthopaedics at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital, a European reference centre for bone dysplasia.
His experience is not limited to a specific area; he has also worked as a knee and foot orthopaedic surgeon at the CIMA Hospital and at the Clínica del Pilar of the QuirónSalud Group, in Barcelona.
These experiences have not only enriched his clinical practice, but have also strengthened his ability to provide compassionate and personalised care to his patients.
Education
Dr. Albert Gargallo began his academic training with pre-medical studies in Psychology at Baylor University in the United States, which provided him with a unique perspective on holistic patient wellness. He then moved to Spain where he completed his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His passion for sports medicine led him to specialise further with a Master's degree in Sports Traumatology from the University of Barcelona, which he completed at the renowned Hospital Clínic in Barcelona. Finally, he completed his specialisation in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron, consolidating his commitment and dedication to excellence in the field of traumatology.
Medical Societies
He is an active member of important medical societies in his field, such as the Societat Catalana de Cirurgia Ortopèdica i Traumatologia (SCCOT) 2011, the Sociedad Española de Cirugía Ortopédica y Traumatología (SECOT) 2011, and is also a member of the AO Trauma Foundation.
