Dr. Luca Bollo is a neurology specialist in Barcelona. He has experience in several areas of neurology, including general neurology, headaches, sleep disorders, memory disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and polyneuropathies. As a specialist in neurology, he is responsible for diagnosis and treatment in these areas.
His main fields of research interest are autoimmune disorders of the central nervous system, in particular multiple sclerosis and neurophthalmology. He also monitors and diagnoses neurovascular diseases such as stroke and cerebral haemorrhage, assessing cardiovascular risk and performing carotid ultrasound scans in adults.
Education
Dr Luca Bollo graduated in medicine at the University of Genoa, having completed exchanges at the University of Cologne and the University of Santiago de Compostela thanks to the Erasmus+ programme. He also holds the European Diploma Supplement in Neuroscience Research having attended the Multiple Sclerosis Centre and the Neuroscience Laboratory of the University of Genoa.
He then completed his neurology residency at the University Hospital of Bari "Aldo Moro". During her residency, she did external rotations at the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Catalonia (CEMCAT) - Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron, where he had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of advanced MRI and optical coherence tomography (OCT) techniques. He is currently in the PhD programme at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
In his field he has authored or co-authored several articles in national and international medical journals, specifically 11 scientific publications in indexed journals on Multiple Sclerosis and demyelinating disorders of the central nervous system.
Universities and medical societies
Dr Bollo is a member of several medical societies, including the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), where he is a member of the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuropathology study groups, and the Italian Society of Neurology (SIN). Both societies promote the development and dissemination of knowledge and research in the field of neurology.
