Do I need a covid test to travel to UK?

Travel restrictions and rules are constantly changing, so it is best to check the government website to get the most up-to-date information regarding travel rules and restrictions.

However, as of 10th December, the current rules for travel to the United Kingdom from Barcelona is as follows.

Rules of testing and travel vary depending on whether you are vaccinated or not. At the moment, if you are vaccinated you must:

• Take a COVID-19 test within the 2 days prior to travel.
• Book and pay for a (day-2) COVID-19 PCR test which is to be taken after you arrive in England.
• Complete a passenger locator form within the 48 hours before you arrive in England.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you must:

• Take a COVID-19 test within the 2 days prior to travel.
• Book and pay for a (day-2 and day-8) COVID-19 PCR test which is to be taken after you arrive in England.
• Complete a passenger locator form within the 48 hours before you arrive in England.

After you arrive in England you must:

• quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 full days
• take your COVID-19 PCR tests – you must book these tests before you travel

You must take the first test on or before day 2 and (if unvaccinated) take the second test on or after day 8. The day you arrive is day 0.
